The Evangelical-Lutheran Church

By the beginning of the Reformation in the Frankish tribe lands, Pappenheim 1539/40 was Protestant. The county was in a difficult situation of considerateness between the Catholic emperor, the bishop of Eichstätt and the electoral Protestant feudatory in Saxony.

The subsequent Evangelical Lutheran Church, with its jewelry full tiles, has been completed in late 1476 style. It is probably on the foundations of a chapel. This should rest on the foundations of a Jewish synagogue as earlier times.

Inside, the baroque parish church is built in a simple Protestant style. On the walls you will find a number of tombs of noble officials and deans and epitaphs of the Count's family.
